The student's data stays private.
estimATAR v1 doesn't require user accounts. Each calculation is identified by an anonymous session ID. We store the NAPLAN scores and school context against that ID so the report can be re-opened.
We never store identifying information about minors without explicit consent. Email is only attached to a calculation if you opt in from the result page or enter one during Stripe checkout.
Raw scores vs. percentiles
There are two kinds of numeric data on every report:
- Raw NAPLAN scores — the exact numbers from the NAPLAN report (e.g. Numeracy 572). These identify a student's performance precisely.
- Percentile conversions — the same scores mapped onto a 0–100 ranking against the national cohort (e.g. 78th percentile). Percentiles can't be back-calculated to the raw scores because the mapping is many-to-one.
Delete the raw scores, keep the report
From any report page you can trigger a one-click deletion of the raw NAPLAN numbers that produced it. The report itself — range, percentiles, adjustment breakdown — stays readable. This is our privacy middle ground: the identifying numeric trail goes, the statistical inference remains.
Full deletion
If you'd like the entire calculation record removed — percentiles, report, the lot — send a note via /contact with the report ID from the top-right of the report page.
Payment
Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see the card number. Stripe receives the calculation ID as metadata so we can flip the entitlement to "paid" after payment completes.
